Traditional Healing Arts Center Reviews: Pros, Cons, & Website Analysis

I had done this type of therapy with other therapists and had great experiences and results. I only tried Christine because my previous therapist retired. Christine’s behavior when I went to see her was truly horrifying. As I was laying down on the table, she would abruptly and loudly yell my name and demand I open my eyes and look at her. As you can imagine, this was shocking and startling. I asked her not to do that because it’s a shock to the nervous system. She became really aggressive and arrogant and told me that if she feels she needs to do that, she’s going to do that.

It’s hard to even put into words how disgusting of a reply that is. For someone to tell me that I don’t have a right to have a say in what happens to me and to my body…wow. She went even further though to aggressively tell me (very arrogantly) that she’s going to do specifically what I told her is harmful for me and what I asked her to stop doing. She also tried to demand that I repeat weird phrases that she came up with that I told her were not helpful. I should have left immediately, but I continued to try to get through to her about why that didn’t work for me and her response was, “If you know everything and you already know what you’re doing, then why are you here?” At that point, I said I really don’t know why I’m still here and I left.

That behavior and the comments she was making show such an emotional immaturity and lack of self-esteem. She is so very unhealed herself and therefore has no business trying to do this kind of work. To do this type of work requires a level of maturity and self-esteem that allows you to, at the very least, respect that other human beings deserve to have sovereignty over their own bodies and their experience.

Also, as gross as her behavior was, her place was even more gross. I believe she might have herself in a proper office now, but when I saw her, she was working out of her home. I didn’t think too much of that when I booked because I’ve worked with practitioners who have home offices that were professional, but that was not the case here. There was no home office. She just had a table in her living room of her small apartment, but the really uncomfortable part was that the place was completely filthy…the kind of filthy where you can barely see the base moldings because they are covered in so much hair and grime and you just don’t want to touch anything. (Yes, I know, just seeing the place should have been a sign for me to turn right around and walk out. Lesson learned.) So even if she has herself in an office now where she can hide her cleanliness issues, clearly, she has a lot of mental health issues going on that make it so that she’s really not in a place to be doing this kind of work.

When I was looking for a new craniosacral therapist, I called around and talked to them first because after this experience, I felt like I had to make sure they weren’t going to act like Christine had. I can tell you, each and every single other therapist I talked to was flat out horrified by her behavior. It’s not normal. You can find someone better. Just call around. I found someone who is great.
