Nurse had called police and I was escorted out of the building. Had she come to me and asked I would have told her the conversation. Nurse was eaves dropping.Just wanted to take her out in courtyard if they even had one in memory care.It was a nice day and I wanted her to get fresh air.. She said i was going to take my mom out of building.I was told not to return. She called the POA. My mother doesn't belong in this place. They are so drugged out that they can't speak for themselves. Your money would be better spent hiring a day nurse to come to home. Quality of life taken away. The cove is very old and is located on this old dark road. My mom was also in assisted living first. . No staff is ever around. My mom would tell so me it was so boring and nothing do do. They also werent giving medications properly. I noticed since she went in the cove her labs were so so bad. I had called the cove one day to get info and spoke to head lady in charge because no one was answering phones. I wanted to know what time meals were and activities. She told me I wasn't allowed to know I wasn't POA. This place is awful Beware where you put loved ones. OMG, I could go on. and on

We had a terrible experience here with my mother-in-law. She was a memory care patient and we told them from the beginning that her Alzheimer’s was severe since the recent death of my father-in-law. They evaluated her and said they could care for her.
She was only there about 1 month when they abruptly told us on a Friday at 5 pm that she needed to move out asap. This was after multiple text messages between us and the staff asking how things were going and them telling us this was a normal adjustment period.
They left us scrambling to find her care and get her moved out. In the meantime they insisted that we hire additional care to come in and help with her on top of the thousands of dollars we were paying them and even suggested that we the family should be there handling this for them. The entire reason she was there was because we knew we weren’t equipped to care for her at this stage of the disease.
Ultimately this is a memory care unit for people who sit still and don’t move or talk. There was more than one occasion when we were present and they were raising their voice at her and insisting she sit still when she was simply walking around. If you have a loved one who does more than that, they cannot handle them.
This facility should have been up front with us and told us they were understaffed and not equipped to deal with my mother-in-law. Our family was grieving the loss of my father-in-law and dealing with the gut wrenching decision of needing to find care for my mother-in-law in his absence. This made our difficult time even worse.

Please dont leave your loved one here. My mother was put her in memory care by my brother who has POA. ITS AWFUL. One room with alot of recliners lined up touching each other. The room is kept very dark and everyone is so drugged up. My mother is so drugged up she doesn’t know anything and he put her in there way before she needed memory care. There is NO activity. Nothing! It’s so so sad. Please think twice.This is not memory care it abuse.This should be against the law!
Also, the place IS NOT regulated by the State of Fla! Go into their memory care room! Look closely at those people. My mom is there zoned out,and she was capable of listening to soft music, holding a conversation. The week before she was put in there she was asking for someone to fix her window blinds she couldn’t reach them, she was too short. That, in my book was putting 2 and 2 together. If you put your loved one in assit living, they coax you into putting them into memory care. It’s more money for them.
