Worked there for a year found out I had skin cancer and needed surgery that intaled 2 months off work after 2 months Worked 1 week and was set up was accused of taking piece of glass art then my boss said check cardboard dumpster and found it so if you work there hope you don't have to have surgery

“Don’t judge a book by its cover.” GenCare at Point Ruston is a beautiful facility, and has a very good marketing strategy.
Where they fell very very short is in their ability to care for the residents that need progressive care.
We looked at numerous assisted living homes and were convinced Gencare was the right choice. The marketing director and executive director convinced us that as our elderly fathers needs advanced they were fully qualified to care for him.
From memory care, all the way to end of life care.
The reality is they could not care for his needs beyond independent status.
There were numerous missteps and outright untruths that happened during my dads 6 months at the facility. From medication confusion, to neglect, and food safety issues.
Gencare is a great place if your loved one is independent, active and able to advocate for themselves.
If there are any care needs beyond having meals prepared this is not the right place.
The 5 star reviews are misleading , there has been a top down leadership change, and the facility went from 12 residents to 134 from April 2022 now .
Our opinion is they do not have the qualified staff in place to care for the geriatric needs as their resident age.
