Etsy employees apparently can't think anymore!
I've been selling templates for years. Now I've moved to another country in August. I can't enter tax information for the new country in my Etsy shop. Etsy told me that this isn't possible in their system. I have to open a new shop!
I usually have 500 items!
In the new shop, I got 100 items for free. I had to pay the setup fee for this new shop! Now here's the kicker! Etsy suspended the new account that I was supposed to create! 😂 I supposedly violated rules. But no one can tell me which rule I violated. I only get the same responses from the same employees. Support and Etsy are really the worst! What a waste of time!

I’m a small creator from Malaysia who opened an Etsy shop on October 5, 2025, selling my original digital wellness planner. I paid RM79 to list my first item, verified my details, and followed all policies.

Within days, Etsy suspended my account without clear reason. I appealed with full proof — product screenshots, emails, and mailbox verification — only to receive a generic denial from their “Trust & Safety” team, refusing to explain what I supposedly violated.

I was never refunded and was permanently banned from creating any new account. As a genuine first-time seller who invested sincerely, this experience was deeply discouraging and financially unfair.

I hope Etsy improves its transparency and communication with small sellers, especially international ones. Until then, I cannot recommend the platform to new creators.

Easily one of the worst sites to sell on. Their policies always favor buyers over sellers and their customer service is a complete joke. All of their customer service is done overseas by people who can barely speak english. They won't read your appeal or consider it at all, they just side with buyers and call it a day.

On top of that, my store was permenately suspended after four years and a 4.5 average rating as a shop. They claimed that this photo violated their prop weapon policy. They threw my appeal in the trash without reading it (again, probably because the customer service team don't speak english) and called it a day.

Etsy is an utter joke that cares absolutely nothing for sellers and treats them like garbage. Take your hard work and effort some place else if you're looking to sell.
