Always there are friendly, employees here. Nov. 1, there was a rude, disrespectful employee. Rosie was working at the counter. I walked up with my lamp to show her exactly what I needed, and she immediately said—very curtly—that they don’t carry bulbs for old lamps. I explained that I’ve purchased a bulb for another old lamp here before, but she just looked at me with a sour expression and told me to “check Home Depot.” The irony is that Home Depot had already looked it up on their phone and sent me here.

While she was dismissing me, my boyfriend noticed an entire wall of bulbs nearby, walked over, and actually found one that worked. Before testing it, we needed to plug in the lamp. There were multiple outlets behind the counter, but Rosie POINTED with her finger- arm extended out and waved it and said, “outlet is over there”. When I couldn’t see what she meant and asked again, she just repeated “It’s over there by the table,” without any effort to help. With so many lamps and displays, it was impossible to tell what she was referring to. So rude.

At a five-star place—Nordstrom is a great example—someone would walk you to what you need or at least offer to plug it in for you. When I came in last year, a different employee did exactly that. The contrast was noticeable. Rosie was unnecessarily rude and unhelpful throughout my visit, which was disappointing for a store I usually enjoy.

We ordered lamps online, paid with PayPal and didn’t catch that the shipping address wasn’t updated until I got the confirmation email. I immediately sent an email to customer service and have now called multiple times to try and correct it with no success. I also created an account to see if I could update online but cannot do anything. The online chatbot was useless and when I managed to get an agent on the chat, they couldn’t do anything. This should be an easy thing to do. Now my order that I already paid for is going to the wrong address and I am told there’s nothing I can do. Customer service matters and this is pretty bad.

I would like to start off by saying I dislike leaving bad reviews.
I have never been treated with disrespect the way the staff in this store treated me and my partner. We walked through the door to make an exchange, and the employee was hostile off the get-go. The chandelier we had a return merchandise authorization on was defective. The chandelier had been installed and didn’t work. I put my digital multimeter on it and didn’t get continuity past the LED driver. The employee, Rosie, was hostile, refused to even look at my return merchandise authorization for defective item. She refused my return. Even though it was in the original box. She told my partner that, “The chandelier works, it just doesn’t work for you.”
I called the customer service line and will be returning it that way. I will no longer do business with this Lamps Plus over this interaction.
