Advice from a loyal, 15+ year soon-to-be ex-customer: host your photos elsewhere! This company has become a total scam. Completely dysfunctional service: non-archived photos take several minutes to load, while archived ones (yes, we faithful legacy customers are supposed to have unlimited storage, but non-recently-accessed photos are relegated to some kind of tape archive) can take hours to days. I decided to take my business elsewhere and did not update my credit card information, but they still somehow managed to charge me for another year on my expired card and of course do not reply to my requests for a refund. Too bad I am Europe-based or I would sue them for failure to provide a service and unauthorized debit. Caveat emptor!

After 12 years with Zenfolio, I discovered today a great many photos are missing from my account. Can't begin to express how disheartening it is to find bits and pieces of work covering over a decade disappearing from this service. No calls or emails mentioning zenfolio was having data center issues or is working to restore accounts. Adobe Lightroom plugin shows me what should be there in the galleries, yet there is nothing. I can no longer recommend this service for professional photography.

Zenfolio was a fantastic platform when I joined 9 years ago. My Subscription is nearly at an end so have switched to Redframe.
Annual fees are now £342.
Zenfolio image sale fees were 7% when I joined, now it’s about 10.6% on every sale (they charge separately for payment processing and commerce fees separately now so total fee can vary)
With an additional fee per image if adding a photo to an order, for example giving a customer an alternative crop, I have to pay for each additional image.
Redframe is costing me £160 for a year, zero commission on sales, just PayPal’s 3.4% fee for transactions - only difference is that I have to self-fulfill print sales.
Zenfolio have introduced an archive system, so if your photos are 14 months old, they shift them to a different server so are not available for upto 12 hours - in other words the best part of a whole day which is unacceptable in this day and age.
There are regular occurrences of website issues. If people want to look at photos and they can’t, there is a good chance of lost sales.
There has been zero innovation with the website in the 9 years I’ve been with them, if you want Apple Pay, you have to move to their new plans and you have to start your website from scratch, no data migration offered.
Shop around before choosing Zenfolio and ask for recommendations.
